Rose’s Zara DRESS

Last week we took the twins for back-to-back, doctor and dentist appointments. So much fun for them! 😉 I had no idea you’re supposed to take your kids to the dentist shortly after they start getting teeth. Now you know. Since both doctors are in Queens, we decided to hang out in Astoria Park afterwards. Astoria Park is huge and they have a really nice playground. The waterfront views of Manhattan are also super accessible and pretty.

Of course, my husband’s main concern is…..FOOD. If I make plans, and food is not included in those plans, he starts resenting all the other non-food plans. When we travel, he doesn’t even care about anything except eating out. On our honeymoon, he wanted to skip the Louvre so we could go to some more restaurants! (We didn’t skip it.) So, before we went to the park, I grabbed him a slice from sLICe Pizza, and then we also went to Gulluoglu (GOO-LO-lou) a Turkish chain. My husband, being Turkish, thinks Gulluoglu is “okay.” For me, it really reminds me of Turkey, and I love it! I also want to expose the twins to as much Turkish culture as possible. They tasted gul boregi (rose shaped, savory pastry with various fillings) and su boregi (basically lasagna with feta and butter, instead of tomato and mozzarella.) After you eat Turkish pastries and baklava, you absolutely have to wash it down with Turkish tea or it doesn’t taste the same. Kaan was so cute carrying around the soda can of sour cherry juice. He wanted to hold it forever. Then, he insisted on wearing Rose’s hat. I try to pick my battles with him, plus he looked so cute in it. He is really obsessed with taking off and putting back on socks, slippers, shoes and hats.

Thanks for reading,

Amanda
